Elin Ørjasæter encourages HR and management to explore artificial intelligence even further. She recommends focused AI tools over broader solutions like ChatGPT.

Elin Ørjasæter, docent in HR and personnel management, has been actively involved in discussions about how artificial intelligence (AI) impacts the workplace in recent years. She teaches 700 students annually, writes textbooks, gives lectures, and shares her perspectives in columns and debates. Ørjasæter is committed to highlighting both the opportunities and challenges that AI brings to management and HR.

Artificial intelligence offers both challenges and solutions

Ørjasæter points out that general AI tools like ChatGPT can be problematic in HR contexts. They often provide meaningless or incorrect answers and can "hallucinate" by fabricating facts, which can undermine the quality of the work. For this reason, she advocates for so-called "silo models" – AI solutions that draw information from verified data sources. She highlights tools like Lawai, which offers specialized tools for HR and labor law.

– Explore AI tools for safer and better management

Ørjasæter encourages HR professionals and managers to explore AI tools that are tailored to their needs. She recommends starting with a free trial period to understand how the technology can support their work. She also emphasizes the importance of communication in the workplace and how AI can contribute to safer and better conversations between leaders and employees.
